Google Pixel 6 in 2023: Better Than EVER!

The Google Pixel 6 is better than it's ever been, one year later
The Google Pixel 6 started off a train wreck, but Android 13 saved it and turned the phone around. The Google Pixel 6 performs well with the original Google Tensor Chip, a 90hz refresh rate, big battery, best in class Google Pixel camera - same as the Pixel 7 Camera - and it's still supported for four more years! I think the Google Pixel 6 looks better than the Google Pixel, oto! Now that the Pixel 7 has Android 13, it's a completely different experience and a much better phone than a year ago!

My pixel 6 works like a charm. I got my pixel 6 when it first came out and I went through all the stuff he talked about but I've never had a serious problem to where I felt that my phone was bad, it's always been good to me so I have no reservations saying that at least for my pixel 6 it's amazing.

I just got one refurbished for $270 and it is basically brand new. Even the battery is at 100% health. The pixel 6 is my first ever flagship experience and damn it was miles faster than my previous Redmi note 8. The pixel 6 doesnt even sweat when I multitask. Not to mention the haptics, dual speakers, OLED high refresh rate screen, one of the best cameras on the market, and a very clean software experience. Honestly I still can't believe I got a flagship experience with midrange money.

Loved my Pixel 6. Other than the connection issue, had no problems. Would have kept it but had to jump on that trade in deal for the 7.

I agree as well. Since the life saving update a few months back, my 6 pro has been a beast!
Traveled from Eastern Canada to New Zealand ( still here ) and it has been just a tank! The pictures and videos are So good. I also prefer the more square/ boxy Samsung Note style since my hands are comparable to a bear. Service has been alright for Northland, NZ. Service here isn't the best because of all the hills and valleys anyways.
I'll wait until the P8 to even think about upgrading.

The update to Android 13 was the biggest help for the 6. I rarely have issues with the network connection but am more frustrated with continued WiFi woes still. In any case, the trade in towards a 7 was tempting but ultimately decided to wait.

So far the worst moment of Pixel 6 was overheating and battery drain with Android 13. But everything was solved. So far the Pixel 6 is a solid mobile. Pixel 7 would have to pass the test of its first update software.

The 7 camera bar change was a huge step back.

I just the other day picked one up on Ebay for $150 in great condition....I mean you really can't beat that. It doesn't matter that it doesn't have facial recognition to me ...I have a Galaxy Ultra 22 and I don't even use it. I think what happened here is you had a good device that was launched with a lot of software bugs and reviewers trashed the device and everyone abandoned it and moved on....now over the last year Google has brought it to where it originally should've been at launch and now people are seeing that its a solid device and buying them now.

Still have my Pixel 6 and love it. The QPR betas have been great

Considering I just leap frogged forcefully from the pixel 2 to a pixel 3 because of an battery nearly exploding on me to now jumping to this about a year later for my job, this should be a massive performance improvement.

No issue with Pixel 6 and glass screen protector here 👍 I really love this phone. Pure Google experience. I hope you'll keep posting video about it in the future!

The problem of the pixel 7 is the 'spontaneous’ shattering camera glass. I just canceled my order of a pixel 7 for a pixel 6 just to avoid this issue

I'm still extremely happy with my Pixel 6 (in Kinda Coral) and, like you, I prefer the design to the choices made for the 7.
In that, the camera visor on the 7 and 7 Pro also introduced a weak spot in the design; the antenna bars are parallel with the upper and lower edges of the visor, meaning that the phone can be easily bent and badly damaged at these points, whereas on the Pixel 6, the antenna bar is central to the visor, giving a far stronger frame.
The aluminium camera visor on the 7 is also, I think, partly to blame for the instances of the camera lenses shattering, Where the Pixel 6 had a solid bar of glass there was no problem with this, but introducing a second material that would expand and contract differently has created a problem where there was none before. Thermodynamics can be a bit of a bugger.
I'll have paid this phone off in October, and I'm as yet undecided what to go for as an upgrade. I'll wait and see what offers there will be on the Pixel 8, but I'm honestly tempted to just get a 6 Pro for a year and see what happens the year after.

I have both Pixel 6 and the 7 pro I have to say I absolutely adore my 6 idk there's something magical or enduring about it 😂 I felt like this is the little phone that kept fighting back 😂 and now it's so good I barely use my new Pixel 7 Pro

just got refurbished pixel 6 from amazon. brand new far as i'm concerned. now with android 13 and january upgrade all seems fine except for the battery which drains faster than I would like. Also I have some concerns about the new 50 mg sensor, as I loved the pics from the 5a. we shall see, but for people worried about the 6 being buggy the updates have probably fixed those...

I did trade my Pixel 6 to upgrade to the Pixel 7 before Google nerfed trade ins.
Never had a problem with the 6 and I would still recommend it as a great and affordable mid range.

Recently I forgot to charge mine and it happened for 5 days and when I went on it, it was only at 75%. The battery is really good compared to a newer one which is crazy.

I'm still rocking my Pixel 6. I initially had connection issues when it was new, but I have zero issues with it now and don't really see any need to upgrade to a Pixel 7. I'll give the Pixel 8 a look in the fall and decide if I'm going to hang onto this or upgrade. Agree with liking the Pixel 6 design more than the 7. Spatial audio has been fun to play with and I'm looking forward to the head tracking update for the Pixel Bud pros.
