Oh well, the old IP5389 IC. Those boards with that IC are notorious for not being able to reach 100w, especially without any heatsinks. They output around 90w max. Furthermore, the coulomb counter built into it needs to be input the initial capacity of the battery. The resistor R8 will determine that. I guess you used 4000mah cells, so you fall short of the default 10000 for a single string in a 2p configuration. That means your board will stop discharging when the display shows around 15%. You need to replace that resistor with a 10k if your batteries are 4000mah. Just divide the total capacity of a single string of batteries in mAh by 0.8 to get the required value of the resistor. I also recommend changing r20 to 27kohm, which will limit the power to 65W. It can't output 100w anyway and will keep resetting, possibly damaging itself or your equipment.

@9:00 lol interesting you opted to do it this way rather than solder the wires to the PCB first which would be easier! guess you like a challenge! 🧨 you also really sealed the box tight - I would definitely prefer to be able to change out individual cells as they die - rather than planned obsolescence from the get go!

I know this seems like nonstop criticism but you really need to do the math on a 5S2P pack outputting or inputting (getting charged with) 100W. You're going to be really pushing the limits of safe charge rate if you charge those with a 100W charger. With a 2P pack you're probably ok on the discharging current so long as the cells are rated for 10A which in the real world means they won't get too hot at 6A or 7A. SInce you're only demanding 2.5A-3.5A per cell you should be ok but I'd be concerned about using one layer of series nickel plated steel. My rule of thumb is if the intended use is to draw more than a couple amps from each cell then it HAS to be pure nickel and 0.15x8mm is my thinnest material. That stuff is good for 7A to 15A depending on the charts you look at. I think 10A is a perfectly acceptable number and 0.20x8mm can handle 15A no problem....20A is pushing it. Double layering nickel isn't perfect but it does work in roughly halving the extra resistance you get between the cells from the connecting material. Nickel plated steel has been 1/4 the conductivity of pure nickel in every test I've done...and pure nickel is 1/4 of copper...1/16 or 6.25% the ampacity of a similar amount of copper is just scary to me. If you base the calculations just on pure nickel vs plated nickel then 0.15x8mm plated nickel is good for 2.5A per series connection. On its best day its good for 5A....

Well done sir, as much as I'll like to do this I'm still having problem with how ill get the casing and what you used to join the cells together. Please help me out

Well done my friend! I see that you have utilized the cells from the dead power tool battery. Great job!

5:34 What are those things that he uses that spark when he presses them down to connect the metal to the battery. Are the necessary for the build or can you just use some plain copper wire and some solder. Anyone know???

very nice powerbank. I also built a similar one with an almost identical PCB. Is BMS working for you properly with this one? For me, it does not balance the cells at all.

Tebrik ederim cok guzel calisma sizi yeni kesfettim vidolariniz kaliteli. Basarilarinizin devamini diliyorum...
