I recently purchased the black 3.0 version and it is much improved over the 1.0 I bought the original several years ago when they first came out. It was a piece of junk! Never worked properly and because of that experience I was hesitant on buying another. Luckily I was pleasantly surprised with the 3.0 they obviously have been working on issues with the original and I guess they worked out the bugs (pun intended) I would recommend this product now.

My 1.0 jammed and couldn't get it to work. Bought a 3.0 and it's way more fun. Don't have to flip the safety each time. Way stronger. Lots of dead flies.

As an avid fly assassin I can 100% recommend the Bug-a-Salt 3.0 over the Bug-a-Salt 2.0. The lethal range is much better and the safety mechanism is MUCH better. It allows for rapid firing instead of resetting safety on every shot. We have a turkey farm fairly close by and have frequent invasions from aerial terrorists.
Since upgrading to the 3.0, my status has been transformed from average sniper to a true one man assault division capable of genocide. After every fly hunt I feel compelled to pray and ask forgiveness for the incredible loss of life that I and the engineers of the 3.0 are responsible for. The glee I feel watching flies fall to the ground from mid-air flak attack should feel wrong somehow but I only feel giddy.

I killed a wasp today with this it can be done you need some coarse ground salt or Epsom salt it greatly increases the knock down power. On the first shot took out it's wings follow up shot completely crippled it final shot finished him so yes you can kill wasps. Flies one shot one kill larger insects follow up shots will do the job. Think of the salt in terms of shotgun rounds regular table salt is like bird shot so other types is more like buckshot.

I've had one of these for almost a year and I've shot very few flies with it. Mostly just spiders and it works incredibly well. I still can't get the wife to use this thing when she comes across a spider in the house but it sure makes it more fun when I have to take care of it.
