things i wish i knew when i first started playing genshin impact

Recently i celebrated my one year anniversary in Genshin Impact and decided to reflect on my past mistake that I did as a begginer player.

I feel like, although we've probably all done dumb decisions in the early game, learning from them and becoming better is what makes you feel like you're actually playing the game. Could you imagine, if you started playing Genshin with all the characters you wanted, all built to perfection, would you be enjoying playing the game the same way? I think that, even though it can be very grindy, farming resources for your favourite character and then actually trying them out is the most enjoyable part of the process, in my opinion.

i just reached ar 60 a few days ago and this takes me back to the earlier days 😭
also finally someone who also got confused with the artifact domain thing i was like; "huhhh how are we supposed to get all these other artifacts i only see the flower" 😂

Good advice. As much as I love big numbers and calculations, I prefer learning how to optimally use the characters I like rather than strictly follow meta for an auto-win button. (I always bring Qiqi to Spiral Abyss). Thankfully there are lots of helpful guides and tools from the community, and all characters work with the right investment and team comp.

I accidentally stumbled upon meta characters. I C6'd Sucrose in the first month I started playing and I was so mad because I didn't care for her. (I still don't use her. Or Bennett. But I use Fischl and Xingqiu a lot now that I learned how to build them.)
I pull characters I want (when I just started, I obsessively wanted Ayaka so I didn't stop until I got her. I was doing Inazuma Archin Quest so I wanted heeeer.). I was also in the mind of "collecting as much as possible". For the past few months, I have been mostly investing in characters I already have and pulling on event banner of the character I really want. I have to thank your series where you perfect your account to give me inspiration!!!

It's okay Ms. Kat, every one of us started noob and eventually learn the ins and outs of the game and it is a good thing to learn new things. Congrats on your first year in Genshin!

Now that i am kinda in the endgame(but not really), i look back to the time i was full of doubts and was a little newbie, and see the path i took and all the things i did, and it is indeed the journey of learning and going along w/ the game that i think makes the game be so fun. When I first started playing I was fully aware of the rewards for adventure ranks but I didn't know you had to do the domain to unlock certain ones, so for months I was a low rank and when I finally figured it out I got to rank 42 💀💀💀

i honestly think theres something a player should also do at the beggining, when you unlock co-op, dont worry about it and when someone wants to join their gonna help you! also do all your archon quests because it gives you primos and the new update gives limited wishes if you complete them too! and do story quests because they give lots of primos.

I remember joining this game due to hu Tao, Barbara and Yae miko. I liked Barbara due to an instagram edit and that was her summer skin one and i just like games with magic/superpowers in general, I was kind of dissatisfied that her skin wasn’t actually her normal outfit. I started downloading Genshin once I saw a Yae miko edit and edited her her aesthetic is just so pretty and I liked her weapon. Hu Tao is the main reason along with Yae, because I love her character design its so gothic-ish. But this game is just a pure grinding machine which stresses ur mental health and makes u distracted but it is chill if you want characters for aesthetics only. But it is hard to get them

when i first found out artifacts, I actually equiped them based off of color scheme and sets...

I gave my DPS Itto (i got him rly early game so i was still VERY new)
a hydro flower thingie that gave him hydro damage

Personally, I was watching videos on genshin impact (like Tuonto's, Dish's or Atsu's) before I could download genshin. So I never made a ''big mistake'' in genshin 😂
I have only one regret and that is to have started using my resin only from level 45. My characters were therefore around levels 50-60 and I had trouble advancing in the game 🥲 Besides, I had less resin to farm artifacts for a while 🤷🏻‍♀️

I remember asking my friend where to get all the other artifacts because I also thought that you can only get the flowers in the domains 😭

Okay okay i just want to say that Kazuha's normal attack matters, because plunge damage that he deals with Chihayaburu (E) conciders as plunge attack damage (normal attack variation) so if you lvl E you want to lvl normals as well 😅

Enjoyed the video. When I started I didn't know what leylines were for lol, wasnt til late that I started doing them. but those lvl 20 Noelle and Xinyan kill me lol. I just love playing games with my brain switched off, Noelle is so fun for this, so I lvl 90 Double Crowned, got BP twice for R2 Serpent Spine, I just love my maid.

omg i remember when i first started playing, i would just farm the viridecent domain not knowing it was for anemo characters and just put those artifacts on all of my characters. and then i saw my characters were doing no dmg so i asked random players to help me and they were very scared of my i then started looking at guides. now my characters are amazing. (i as like ar 43 r smthg...) i also saw ppl talking abt meta and it really annoys me. i ONLY get characters tht i like lore wise. even if i dont like their playstyle. like Wanderer, albedo and qiqi. i LOVEE qiqi smm. i also love lore and i mainly play for lore and i agree, the genshin community wants the game to be things tht its not. enjoy the game for the game :) anyways, nice video some of these were relatable lol and happy 1 yr of playing genshin anniversity
