As a software engineer, no I'm not living paycheck to paycheck and neither are most software engineers I know.

If you’re making 6k a month and living paycheck to paycheck you need to reevaluate your life

@content creator, I make significantly less than a software engineer and I’m not living paycheck to paycheck. Sounds like you have a lifestyle and money management problem.

If you're single [even in California] and are barely surviving making $130k a year, then the problem isn't your income, it's your expenses.

Watching rich people complain about not being able to live rich lifestyles is so frustrating, I wish I had those problems

if you do the math.... those who work for minimum wage of $15 per hour are considered homeless.

Software engineer here… I live in Texas so it is considerably cheaper here than most places, but still as long as you’re not living extravagantly my paycheck more than covers necessities. FYI eating out and traveling is not a necessity.

Household income is NOT salary. Salary is individual. Household is total income within a household! 😅

I don't think she knows what living paycheck to paycheck means

I'm not an engineer, but even I can calculate that's gross salary increase of 3.9% from $127, 260 to $132, 270

Why are people make videos and say ridiculous things like this? It's purposefully misleading. She said you would need $6099 a month just to pay for housing and she's basing that off of a $787, 000 house. Why would someone need to buy a house that expensive? There are plenty of cheaper options for living lol. Making it seem like everybody is struggling and people making 6 figures can barely survive. And saying that no one can afford anything is so outrageous i don't even need to go into that. If no one could afford anything everyone would be homeless.

As a Kroger employee who got paid $15/hour in 2022 and only gained $0.30 every year I’ll say that you are ungrateful for complaining

After you make $100k/year in income, it's not the Money that's the problem, it's your spending habits, especially if you aren't married and just living by yourself.

That’s not cost of living problem, that’s a lifestyle problem…I recently crossed over the $100k/year mark and after primary expenses are paid for I live on less than 1/3 of my annual salary

So I don’t have any sympathy for anyone who is in the top 15 % of earners living paycheck to paycheck because that’s a choice

This more so has to do with the cost of housing in major cities. Obviously paycheck to paycheck falls on the individual's needs and wants. Like most software developers are most likely single meaning they can live in a small studio greater than 500sqft but less than 100sqft, but the cost of those are roughly 1/2 of their monthly base salary with coffin apartments being close to 1/3 of their income. If you make 130k in southern Illinois, damn straight you shouldn't be living paycheck to paycheck, but in California to afford the same lifestyle you would need 249, 829.93 cause the cost of living is damn near 95% higher
