A lot of us are motivated to get into tech because of the salary. That fact begs the question: how much money can a software developer expect to make?

So, in this video, I take you through my first three engineering salaries as examples of what you could be paid. We also discuss the factors that influence your pay, and what I think good salaries are for junior, mid and senior engineers.

I'm so glad you made this video, I don't understand why there is such a taboo about talking about how much money people make and especially with your co-workers.

How much do developers make after deductions? So if a developer make 100k base, 10k bonus, 20k RSU. How much is the take home pay for developers in that? I’ve always seen people talking about their package is like 200k but how much is the net tho? Like do you also include ur RSU as a total compensation so you technically get tax less? I’m a little confused on this part.

First 🙃, any recommendations on how to find a job in US, B2B contract?
I've applied on LinkedIn to jobs in US but no interviews. Need another approach.

I would think in the range of 120k-180k for mid level capable 220k for senior

Your analogy of paying someone in a rural area vs someone in Bay Area is exactly what I want to beware of. Thanks for sparking us into staying hungry and curious.
