A story about that Ancient History of Chaco Canyon and the Anasazi of the American Southwest. In this video we explore evidence of cannibalism, human sacrifice, parrots, cacao, and other connections to MesoAmerica. The Ancestral Puebloans had quite a bit in common with the MesoAmericans to the south.

I'm in SE Utah desert right now and can tell you I have come across many sites that haven't been discovered yet including ruins, burial grounds and tons of artifacts. I am surprised at how little is known about the Ancient Puebloans and the myths about them being "Anasazi" people. From what I have studied the Anasazi were invaders from the south and the Navajo legends back this up also. Glad to see someone making videos to correct a lot of misconceptions surrounding these people and their land. Great editing BTW, I don't think people realize the work it takes to put together a quality video like you have.

I hate how a modern distaste for offending groups means we must all disbelieve cannibalism claims even when there is good evidence.
This is a problem in the us, Canada, and also in Australia.
History is history, it doesn't have to reflect on current populations.

When i look at the Anasazi dwellings, their circular structures remind me of golbekli tepe and those circular structures. Those t shaped doorways remind me of the t shaped pillars also at golbekli tepe. They may not be the same, but they are similar.

The Navajos for some reason never admitted their own dark side of history . They make it sound like the were always so peaceful and never bather anybody. Not very realistic. I’m South American and the Anasazi sound like natives from those lands . Definitely real and raw . Great video

In the oral stories of the Navajo people. It's very implied that these tribespeople are outsiders from this region. Possibly from Mesoamerica or South America. Many people say it's the ancestral Puebloans but the historical accounts say otherwise. It was so bad that all the tribes worked together to defeat this rising evil.

Who ate the Anasazi and drove them into cliff shelters?

Navajo showed up in the southwest coming down from a cross the bering straight. They were not from here, we are, and I know the history of our people. We have been in the southwest since time immemorial.

Things I would like to know. Where did they get their water? When did they raise their crops? Did they irrigate their crops? If timber was used to cover the huge Kiva where did the timber come from and how was it transported. Speculation on whether or not these natives viewed the heavens doesn't help me understand their society like this other knowledge would. Did they die off because they got a prion sickness like other cannibals did, i.e. mad cow. Did they use a wheel of any kind?

Watch “Navajo Traditional Teachings” videos on the origins of the Anasazi. The oral history told is powerful and clears up some confusion about the history. In my opinion it is the most credible information

They were from the south probably remnants of the collapsed empire(s). Through mexico into central and south america. We had a trade route and this was a meeting Mecca, and became a horrible place. Where people were enslaved. Sacrifices and horrible things happened the more desperate things became. Now, if you look South into the history and what happened
And how certain cultures did things And what would have probably been common beliefs, It would make a lot of sense. it's not that big of a mystery. But they destroyed themselves. And were wiped out. By greed and their abusive practices. The environment was also not capable of supporting or sustaining
This level of people in such places. At the time, severe drought.
And environmental problems.
Were rampant as well during this period. And the traditional stories told about this place from surrounding tribes and stories of what happened. Begin to make a lot of sense. But take this lesson from history all around the world. When a culture stops respecting nature, and each other and gets too big for itself and abuses all around. In the energy of entitlement the disease of man
They are destroyed by their own hands, always in the end. Forever that lesson has repeated through time Ancient civilization religion culture beliefs It is the same lesson over and over. So don't fall prey to it And allow history to continue to repeat itself Even in modern times.

I swear this one guy replied to my comment on here and now I can’t find it. He told me some really interesting story about the reason why all of them disappeared so suddenly it’s because they were all slaughtered due to the gambler taking Navajo as slaves even though that wasn’t part of the original deal

Why is cannibalism controversial for this area? Didn't you just allude to the fact they were trading with peoples from Mexico? Isn't human sacrifice part of the ancient Mexicans way of life?

I suspected the anasazi were from Mexico. Mayan perhaps. The navajo talk of human sacrifice and the worship of dark ways. Eventually they became a threat and were wiped out by the navajo and local tribes. They only lived in the area a few hundred areas.

We never left. We are part of the great Red Caribbean culture. Ever wonder where Miami got its name?
