I saw Bodes twist coming. Wasn't expecting him to be a jedi.

Honestly, Bode being a Jedi makes so much sense on second playthrough. He knew a lot about the order and even telling Cal to “search your insticts” right before the reveal

I was suss of Bode when he shot Cordova. Thought that was a bit of a weird decision. When he force choked Merrin that was when I was like "yep, right, he's not a good guy."

At the beginning when he splits off to get the tie fighters off of Cal and the other guy and he just disappears, only to come back perfectly fine, I knew something was off. But they did a great job making you write it off and like him. Man, this game is so good. And great job giving clarity to things that people didn't read or missed.

No wonder it looks so similar to Dagan’s in the ending. Never expected bode to pick it up and least expected when he turns out to be a Jedi. I thought it just was his lightsaber he hid somewhere 😂

If you go back to the Archives in Jedha and interact with the Force Echo near the Imperial training dummy, you will find out that Bode wanted to use Cal's love for Merrin against him; to manipulate him into doing what he wants. That's also why Bode was trying to ask questions regarding Cal's relationship with Merrin multiple times in the Bog area on Koboh.

What I also think people don't seem to grasp is why he betrayed Cal. Bode and Cal's ideals were pretty much completely aligned until Cal decided he wanted to use Tanalorr for the hidden path which would make it that much more likely for the empire to find. Bode just wanted a safe place away from the empire so he could stop working for Denvik as a spy and raise his daughter in a safe place. He was helping Cal because it would've given him a way out and a safer life for his family and he was willing to let Cal be a part of that. Bode and Cal did become friends and he gave Cal plenty of chances to change his mind about bringing the hidden path but when he wouldn't budge, that's when Bode took it too far. He was just trying to have a safer life but went about it the wrong way

I just gotta say HUGE respect for being one of extremely few to have a clever title and a discreet thumbnail as well as giving a very notable spoiler warning message. Since a ton of the star wars community especially around media suck super hard and will post videos and thumbnails not caring about spoilers for others the day the game comes out if not earlier. I already beat the game but still I had to put it out there that I wish more people had this courtesy since I got spoiled a little bit before the game even came out on YouTube

A cool thing to notice on a repeat playthrough is that Bode keeps subtly trying to turn Cal away from Jedi ideals. He gives him a blaster, which the Jedi would frown on, he encourages him to pursue a relationship with Merrin, which the Jedi would frown on. All of this to try to convince (or manipulate, if you will) Cal to stop trying to do the Jedi thing, fighting the Empire and working with the Hidden Path. He really wanted Cal and his family to go to Tanalorr with him and his daughter, and live there peacefully.

I was suspicious when Bode happened to be the only person to leave Coruscant alive other than Cal.

Man, this game had a lot of foresight, in the setup for this game. I like how they have Force Echoes that help explained a lot of Bode's motives throughout the entire game.

I saw Bode's betrayal coming, but not until right before. I did not expect him to be a force user. Then they got me again by revealing he'd worked for Denvik during the Clone Wars.

I was one of the people that definitely didn't see Bode's betrayal coming. When Cal first told Bode that he wanted to share Tanalorr with the Hidden Path and Bode had a somewhat disappointed reaction, I knew something was going on but I had no clue that Bode was going to completely betray you, nor did I expect him to be a past Jedi. The entire final act of the game is just surprise after surprise.

I knew something about bode was off when we fought dagan for the last time and bode wanted to stay behind so randomly

Bode might’ve started off as just a spy but I believe he had genuinely switched sides when they discovered Tanalorr. It wasn’t until Cal decided to change their plans and make Tanalorr a base for the rebellion did he actually decide to betray them again.

Something I noticed(probably nothing) was that one of the first things we see bode do in the game is shoot that stormtrooper in the back(close enough to stabbing). I could be reading too deep but I like to think it was a very subtle foreshadowing

Killing Cordova was probably THE most unnecessary thing he's ever done. Cordova's death was worse than the previous performance issues

During to one of the conversations Bode had with Cal about his daughter, he said that he was gonna go and record a bed time story for her. That line alone gave me the feeling that Bode was about to die at some point to the story, so my surprise when he revealed himself to be a traitor and a former Jedi really kicked me in the guts

I think everyone “saw” the twist coming. I mean what person isn’t skeptical of a new character that we know very little about joining the protagonists journey. However its not a lazy twist by any stretch no matter how many people are sitting here saying “I knew this was going to happen from the beginning”

What I think the game does very very well is let down the players guard a lot over the course of the game. You the player (just like cal) become close to bode and trust him more as the story progresses and you learn about his daughter. The game introduces you and preoccupies your attention with the main villains and throughout Bode is there to help and fight along side you the whole way.

That’s what makes the twist so shocking despise being skeptical of Bode since the beginning. Oh that and making him a former Jedi and being the “Survivor” was just an amazing addition.

I saw the twist happening, but only when I started to belive that he wouldn't do it he did. Bode is a fantastic character, and a brilliant foil to Cal. A genuinely fantastic story with fantastic characters.
