The only Commanche demo that does not sound like everyone else's. I own a 1995 G&L ASAT Special and I really appreciate what that company does with guitars.

This is legitimately the most helpful demo I’ve seen. Thank you for playing some riffs with heavy distortion. It’s nice to hear how it handles it all.

For a noise cancelling pickup no one ever has even to date played over distortion. Most play smooth blues or jazz and that demonstrates nothing relative to the noise cancelling pickups. Thanks for the much needed demo.

Nice video and a beautiful Comanche. It is a great guitar with as you said, a lot of versatility and a unique thing that it does all of it's own.
Maybe all of us G&L lovers should post a YT video with our favorite guitar.

Every time I pick-up my Comanche I'm amazed by it's tonal versatility

It’s nice that you did this review. Described by a g&L tech, these are single coil humbuckers that aren’t noisy. Also a Normal humbucker when you strum the low string and the high they cancel each other out. These do not.
In the video you left it on the bridge pick up the whole time other than switching the toggle to combine one other pick up… it would be nice to hear all the combinations. With the same notes played each time.

Thanks for this. All the other videos show that the Comanche can be Strat-like. I have Strats, I’m interested in what they can’t do.

It drives me insane that G&Ls are not more reviewed or praised. The electronics and wiring configuration alone are so far superior to other similar style guitars. This was LEOs final version. He said it himself that it was his greatest guitar. I have and love Fenders but these G&Ls need to be more widely available and known.

If you roll back the volume and tone you can more closely approximate a strat tone. Also, Free-Way makes a switch that gives you the 7 switching choices of the G&L "expander" setup, but adds N+M, N+B, and M+B *in series*. The switch is available at Stew-Mac. I put one in my G&L ASAT Classic S (alnico) and it makes a huge difference.

Hi. I am from Russia. Nice to see Comanche. I have Comanche Indonesia version. USA version too rich for me. Also I bought Boss katana 50. You are lucky to have lamp amp. Thanks. Sounds great

Just split coils. Same as a P bass pretty much. But the tone controls and switch add a lot of versatility.

Hands down better than the Fender MIMs coming out these days.

The only reason these pickups would ever stand out to me is their ability to sound like single coils and also humbuckers.

The inky way to test a humbucker is to play metal.

This is the only demo that played metal.

What happens when I restring one left handed? Does the world end?

The pickup sounds a bit fat. Is it somewhere between single and humbucker?
