Motorist Has 'Real' Advice for Atheists (His Opus Number 18)

The new Ruben? Except for the wedding ring on his hand, Christopher fits a very definite archetype: his videos (all with opus numbers) range from support of the standard alt-right darlings to videos about "charisma" and "how to get laid." But he also has a thing about atheism: he's fervently anti-atheism, though he seems apathetic about his own religion, and he thinks he has us all figured out. Today we're looking at a video in which he deigns to give us advice, as well as taking brief forays into a couple other videos (including one in which he pre-emptively calls makers of response videos "two faced rats"). We'll address what he has to say, and we'll just kinda hope he's not the next Elliot Rodger.

One of his nitpicks about atheism is it doesn't have a single definition. "An atheist can just pick another definition to get out of a problem." I'm guessing he hasn't had a good look at Christianity then. Thousands of denominations. Subsets of beliefs within denominations. Independent believer with sets of different beliefs. And, yes, I've seen wannabe evangelists slide out of a conundrum by doing things like switching his stated beliefs from eternal torment in Hell to annihilationism from one moment to the next. If any person self-identifies as a Christian, that tells me next to nothing. I have to ask multiple questions on doctrine to figure out what kind of Christian, what kind of God they believe in, what Jesus they believe in, etc.

His advice was useless. Based in misunderstanding and ignorance. Plus, I have troubles taking advice form a guy who puts his life, and the lives of others, on the line by making a video while driving. He should be focused on his driving. Not trying to multitask. He needs to demonstrate some level of personal responsibility and maturity before he can be seen as a source of potentially good advice.

Theists tend to make their belief in a god the focus of their life. Hence, they often can't comprehend someone just being an atheist without it likewise being our life's focus. I'm only an atheist when the topic of god(s) comes up and there is a question about whether I believe in any. The rest of the time, I'm just me - not a theist or an atheist - just me, living my life. It's like if you order a Big Mac and are asked, "would you like fries with that?" Your answer to that question doesn't define your life, it doesn't say anything about your morals, it's not a core part of your psyche that you're willing to die for.
