Recording Through VST Plugins in REAPER 6 Audio Tutorial

Recording with plugins and without glitches (pops, clicks, crashes) is probably a big reason to own an Apple desktop computer. Apple Core Audio is superb...from what I've been told.

Also, Pro Tools AAX-DSP hardware or Universal Audio's UAD hardware can be used in real time with virtual zero latency during recording. Unfortunately, those are expensive options.

1. a gate if you record in the house
2.light compression
3. limiter set to -10db

The UA Apollo interfaces can utilize their built in effects to apply them to the audio at the interface level, prior to being sent to the computer so there is no, (or completely unnoticeable as far as I can tell) latency. I'm sure some others can do this too. That said, there is a limit. Sometimes, I want to at least monitor with some VST effects for a vocal, so I can get more into the mood of the performance, so this video helpful. Thanks!

You should do a video about zero latency monitoring and how to use it on any interface regardless of how old or how new your interface might be.

My interface preamp is a bit dull so I like to add a little high end to each track. It's also nice to add a bit of comp so I'm not clip gaining all my items. Thanks for the video Adam 👍
