SQAL is a simple synth subtractive synth. That's cool. But almost any synth can get you there.
Tyrell is nice. Of all of the free ones, it's the one to get because you can actually program it deeply from scratch... if you want to take the time to learn. The synthmaster player is fine. Same thing, but there's a paid version of the full synth. If you know what you're doing, it's worth getting the paid full version. But it's DEEP. If you don't know, then don't bother with the paid version. Lastly, the hang drum synth... one trick pony... but you like whatcha like.
