My high school ran an aggressive, trapping 1-3-1 which dealt fits to opposing teams.

He typically ran the 1 on top, the 2 on the baseline, the 5 in the center, and the 3/4 on the wings.

The effectiveness of the trap was compounded at home, which was a tiny, claustrophobic gym where the bench players and front row fans had to suck in to keep their feet behind the sidelines. It made opposing teams uncomfortable when they saw a wall of knees butted right up to the court.

It seemed like the beauty of it was that it didn't necessarily require great size to get a rebound advantage.

It was also flexible enough that it took unusually hot outside shooting to break it. In later years, I spoke to a coach from a rival school. He said that 1-3-1 gave him nightmares.

Thanks Coach.
But i belive doing Over/Under against PnR is too risky in Modern basketball .
You can do Switch with wingers and cover the short passes with on ball defender and Drop the middle guy with cover the corners by the last man next to the Bline .
At this moment we changed the 1-3-1 to 2-3.
P.S. Didnt talk about the moment when they turn the ball to the corner .
