April, what's so cool about your videos is seeing how much joy you get from each and every project. That little dance you do followed by that big bright smile and laugh, is always awesome to see. Thanks for bringing us along for the ride. You're very much appreciated!👍🏾

Don’t forget to insulate around the bookshelves as a far amount of heat will be transferred through the bookshelves if they’re mounted into the roof space. We have built in shelves upstairs and found this.

I’ve had two friends fall from a height like that. Every video I’m nervous someone will step off the edge. I hope to see you put up railings soon!

Very cool install!

Love the explanation on the stud seperations between the 3 boxes. I'm tired right now and the how you're doing that wasn't clicking for a second until you covered it.

I totally get the happy dance over it! That was me a couple years ago when I built my grandsons crib!! Came out amazing and I was patting myself on the back and didn't need anyone to tell my it was awesome! Lol.

While built in’s can be intimidating, thanks for showing that built in’s are actually fairly easy! Awesome Job April! 😃😊🤩

That’s a great way to build and install shelves! I especially like your stud cavities. They look great and are an ingenious way you can increase your storage area with some very nice trim! Thanks for sharing this one April. Hope you’re having a great day and please keep on building!

Nice ideas here. I have a traditional colonial house with a typical staircase leading to the second floor. The area/ceiling space above the stairs, that is also a boxed-in wall cavity next to my 3rd bedroom/office is just dead space because the builders found it easier to leave as-is. I bet many colonials like this have the same dead space above the stairs.

I plan to open that odd dead space in the 3rd bedroom and use it for a new closet. It can't be a floor to ceiling closet because the bottom is angled and part of the staircase ceiling structure, so an off the floor built-in would be perfect. My brother did the same for my parent's house... made a nice ~3'Wx4'Hx4'D nook with a couple shelves for long term storage items... yes, 4+ feet deep!

I love those fits. I helped a buddy of mine build an island for his kitchen. He framed out the spot on the floor with 2x4s. When we carried the island up and set it on the frame is just slowly slid in to place making this amazing noise.

Good morning, April! I love this idea. I hate knowing there is wasted space, so this is the perfect remedy. I did this in a few rooms of our old home. I haven't yet done it here, even though we've been here over 20 years. SO MANY projects to finish. Everything in it's time, I guess. Thanks so much for posting this awesome project. Have a great week. God bless.

How does Jacob get to the attic? Does he use a "Jacob's Ladder"? 🤣🤣

As someone with quite a severe fear of heights (I get dizzy when I stand on a piece of paper) seeing no railing and you walking by the edge so casually I get tingles down my spine. Will you add railing eventually or will it stay like this?
Love your videos, long time subscriber. Keep up the good work April!

Freakin' awesome, indeed! I don't have a need to make something like this, yet, but I loved the moment when it fit into place, too!

I like built in shelves in any room. I think it adds a classic look to a room. While also providing more storage and beauty to a space! 👏😃👍

Glad your studs in the wall were plumb. I have seen way too many houses where they are not. That would have been a big wah wah moment.

Awesome design. Guess you could make a partial inset bookcase and flank it with narrow shelved convential bookcases using the top as a knick knack shelf If you put it in a standard room wall - if that makes sense.

The loft is looking awesome. Just this nice chill happy spot to get away from everything.
