I cant thank you enough. First, now I know I have gypsy broccoli. Second, it's the wrong time of year.
Third, it explains why I suddenly have aphids when my isolated balcony had none b4. My boss gave me the plant from his backyard. Now his eggplants and peppers are getting annihilated with aphids that were infecting his cruciferous crops.
Everything makes sense now! Glad you exist sir!
🤟😎👍

Hey Jeff, I can’t believe I didn’t realize you were suffering with that extreme heat! I hope you’re getting along ok. Now I know why you are making those quickie video. You don’t want to melt!!

Harvested my cabbage, some kohlrabi a few days ago. Harvested my cauliflower a couple of weeks ago just before the heat wave. Have cauliflower starts under grow lights indoors. Finally found golden acres cabbage with a 70 to 80 day maturity for a fall harvest they will be started today. Also started brussel sprouts for a late fall harvest.

Watering twice a day, misting, shade cloth. 40 c for 4 days kicked the crap out of my container peas. Live and learn, more shade next year for peas.

A few of my plants died out a few weeks ago when it was hot. Some of the newer plants that I’m growing is definitely a learning experience. Getting my kale and some brassicas ready for fall. Thank you Jeff for your wonderful videos. Have a great weekend everyone!!! 🙏🏻💙🙏🏻

Jeff, I’ll venture a guess that you’ve never dealt with the extreme heat such as this growing season. And after the dust settles this fall, I’ll bet you gathered enough hands on experience to make another valuable video that can benefit all of us. Good luck with your farming while you tolerate the heat

Beginner gardener here. Planted some tomatoes. Most pots are doing well except for one that is turning yellow. Thanks for the tips on this video. I think it’s time to put new soil. Wish me luck. I want to learn more so I can plant more. But I want to do it one step at a time.

Thank you for this valuable information. This is my first year planting and used the potting beds (EMSCO). What I've planted so far seem to be thriving, I'm now thinking I'll have to re-pot a few (I may have overcrowded). I did pick up on over-watering my beets so I cut off the dead leaves and freshened the surrounding soil adding a touch of perolite and fertilizer, giving direct sun and no misting, they came back. Thanks again!!!!

New sub here!
What I really appreciate is the overall (all in one) approach to plant growing - soil, atmospheric and time related conditions, watering issues, pests and disease, very helpful clear instructions and especially your clear voice - this is excellent instruction. Thank you very much. What a change from usual chatty stuff which can even be amusing but I prefer your methods.
Just a hint needed here.. very leggy and very tall tomato plants, not a terrific number of leaves, good fruits but not that many: recovery from an aphid blast after assiduous treatment a month ago, only morning sunlight (on balcony).. still get a few new little leafy stems quickly affected by withering grey brownish leaves on their tips rapidly involving the whole shoot, which I have to cut off..
can’t really find the main reason for slow growth.
Have learnt to water deep and regularly but that hasn’t changed the issues, help please if possible. Oh, have to add the very hot spell of 37-38*C, thanks again

It's amazing how, even though you are in Canada and I'm in Belgium, we are growing the same veggies. I am also growing Black beauty and Tiny Tim. Although your Tiny Tim is truly tiny, and mine is about 1.5 meters tall 😜

(9b CA) Great video. I had to laugh at the "really?". Good video. I was wondering, can you do a video on the different garden cloth and when to use what? There are the green and black "shade" cloth. Does it also work for frost? What is the row cover used for? Is it also for heat? Thanks!

Thanks for all your helpful videos! Question: I have an indeterminate cherry tomato plant in a (way too) small container that is relatively heavy with green fruit...The main tip got baked in the heat a couple weeks ago and has stunted it's upward growth. The plant is now exploding with suckers from all over the leaf branches, almost every branch has multiple suckers all the way out along the branches and they all have blossom clusters...any thoughts? Thanks in advance from the coast of Maine.
