TikTok scammers posing as celebs

TikTok is warning users to watch out for scammers, pretending to be other people, sometimes even celebrities. One local woman says she experienced it firsthand.

I got one from Doro Pesch saying how she thought I was so good looking and wanted to give me a free pass to her concert next time she was in my area as as go out to dinner. Problem is Tik Tok won't remove bogus accounts and even some celebs don't have a verification badge.

I am sorry this situation happened to her. I had the same problem when I thought I was talking to Rick Springfield, but it was a scam on my TikTok account. I am glad I left TikTok last year. It is also why I quit and do not use social media anymore. These fake accounts need to be illegal in the United States.

Yes there are celeb scammers on tiktok, tiktok rules are lax. The celebs get intouch with you (they are fake celebrities though, because tik tok allows celebrities names without them being endorsed by the real celebrity

I hate that the scammers are ruining and making TikTok and other apps such an unsafe place. We would love to just enjoy the apps and the fact we can actually reach out to celebrities and enjoy their content more, but if we do, we are most likely to get targeted by the bad people. Its so bad.

I think I counted close to 200 carrie underwood acounts ! The blue check by their name that showes they have been verafied as real might not prove anything. Its rare that I can find somone that just wants to talk and not be some scam What has happend ? Were are the good people at ?

I just had someone pretend to be Ne-yo. He is a multi millionaire and doesn't need a dime from an everyday working woman . I wasn't dumb enough to send money. Smh Rich people don't need money people. That is a dam huge red flag . He even faked a face time pretending to be waving. Technology is a mutha.
