Limiting Reactant Lab Report

Показать описание
Abstract:
In this experiment we needed to measure the height of the precipitate formed by 2 aqueous solutions, copper sulfate and potassium hydroxide. Through the chemical reaction of these 2 aqueous solutions a precipitate was formed. While the reaction was occurring, we observed a limiting reactant of one of the solutions causing there to be excess of the other solution. This shows how the mole ratio is uneven (2:1) in tubes 1-4 and 6-8. Test tube 5 had an equal ratio because .0005 moles of CuSO4 and .001 of KOH were added.
