Limiting reactant lab

Abstract: In this lab we used different values of substances like KOH, CuSO4, and water to test the limiting reactants of these substances. Using the buret we dispensed our reactants differently into the 8 different test tubes. After dispensing the amounts of each substance together, we mixed all 8 test tubes with a spatula and waited for 15 minutes. This gave us our precipitate of Cu(OH)2. We saw that the low amount of KOH in the first four tubes made a small precipitate. There was excess of water and CuSO4 in those same tubes as well. Tubes 5, 6, 7, and 8 had an excess of KOH which caused an increase in the precipitate. This told us that the CuSO4 was absorbing lots of the KOH and showed us limited reactants after there was excess KOH.
