NEW: 2024 Specialized Turbo Levo SL Alloy | Better Than An S-Works?

Показать описание
Specialized's new Turbo Levo SL Alloy undecuts the brand's flagship lightweight trail e-bike by over 60%, but it only comes with a 2.5kg weight penalty. The Levo SL is one of our fave mid-power e-bikes, with an addictively dynamic ride, excellent integration, and extensive geometry adjustment. But until now the pricing has been at the outer edge of premium.

We get our hands on the new bike and chuck it straight on the scales to see whether Specialized's weight claims ring true in the real world.

It is true, having the SL ebike makes it much more enjoyable to ride here in the Appalachian mountains.
I still have my Sworks evo....but we'll see.

No wonder specialized bikes are so $$$, with headquarters that fancy 😂

I have A CanondaleHabit neo which weighs 24kilos, which I find difficult to throw around, sip I'd definitely go for the levo SL if it's as playful as Alan says 😎

Quite like this, hoping the next stump jumper has the same silhouette

I did a test day on the Levo SL comp carbon end of last year and the bikes handles so much better with the new kinematic compared to the Stumpy Evo. But I found the motor very weak on steep climbs. Interesting that you mentioned the TQ motor being less powerful, I found it to be the other way round. Has there been a motor update on the alloy Levo SL since late last year?

I think for me full powered so i can ride to Mt Tam, rip around and back which is 3-4 hours

I read somewhere that the range extender was included with this model, I was thinking that can’t have been right, also what length are the crank arms they look quite long where most lightweight e-bikes are moving to smaller crank arms.

Are the motors more reliable now, plenty of people avoiding them due to problems over time.

I'm sure a full power Levo only weighs 24kg with a 700wh battery. Whats the point in the SL for a few kilos by the time you've messed around with a range extender? Buy the full power and ride all day!

My brain tells me lower end light e bike that isn't actually that light doesn't make much sense but the person sitting on it has a much bigger impact on range

I paid £5k for the orange blaze version last year. After a few months I went out on my old 2020 full fat alloy Levo and the difference in assist is stark. Very different feel. I enjoy them both for different use cases.

I have a full powered ebike and want an mid power lighter e bike. I ride my full power most of the time between 30-40nm. I’m a light rider with reasonable fitness. Full power is wasted on me. The Levo Sl is on my shortlist. I like that it has 160/150 travel whereas most alternatives are 150/140.

Grateful to be riding 23' 26.75 pound Stumpjumper EVO carbon. It's a full carbon build with Reynolds Blacklabel Trail Pro 329 wheels.

* Haven't ridden E-bike. Ignorance is bliss. But, just bought a 4000 mile dual sport motorcycle for cheap. So who knows, maybe an aluminum SL E-bike in a couple years might be the ticket just because the weight and power of the dual sport motorcycle will drastically alter my perception of weight to power ratio.

Real tyres and a 29" rear wheel and it's 22kgs all of a sudden.

Put gravity casing tires plus cushcore and it will weight 22 kg 😂

600 grams lighter… well done guys! Your reviews are super reliable…

Why? Isn't it heavier? Defeats the purpose of being a "SL" (IMO)...
