If you are wondering whether or not the transfer case shift motor is your problem. I found out by smacking the black piece with a rubber mallet, like you would with a starter when it's going out. I was of course only able to do this a couple times while I had my new shift motor on order since the old one was not going to last.

What are the two wires, "brown & black wire from another sensor", from exactly?
I had to put a hole in the harness back to insert them & the red piece I didn't insert because I think the new harness had it built in, plus it wouldnt connect/close with it. installed. What are those two wires from/to? Lemme know please.

Great video. My 2004 f150 didn’t have those other two wires that all these videos show I replaced mine but I still have no lights nothing. Any ideas. Checked all vacuum lines.

Is it possible to switch the plug ends mine came with a round plug and my truck has a square plug.

Thanks! Was getting a terrible clicking/grinding noise on front/driver's side, like wheel hub trying to engage, and had to disconnect the modulator while on a trip recently. Still made that noise, just not as often (LOL), then quit. No 4WD but truck working fine. ABS and 4WD dash lights flash every so often. You think the modulator is the only issue?

I replaced the transfer case but my 4x4 does not still turn on. When I turn the knob to put it to either 4h or 4l nothing happens. The light never turns on and I don’t hear anything happening no engaging or disengage. Any idea what i could be? I even tried a new solenoid and no luck.

Hi... last week or so, been having an issue with my 04 Explorer. Hearing a rumble noise.. I checked the HUBS on my front tires and there is NOmovement - nice and tight. now my truck will NOT go into 4x4. im thinking this may be the cv Joint/axle. Appreciate your help.

So my issue is that I turn the 4x4 switch and the 4x4 light don’t come on and I’ve checked every fuse and relay that’s labeled 4x4

New switch knob, new motor, new vac solenoid...

Dash doesn't beep or light up and no 4wd modes working...I'm stumped. Relays and fuses are all good.
