TS80 OLED repair / replacement

Here's how to replace a failed OLED display of a Mini TS80 soldering iron. You should plan 30 minutes for this fix and have good soldering skills.

Unfortunatelu OLED stopped working to and I don't have a spare soldering iron to attempt to repair. I might need to invest in another one and then be able to perform the repair. Thank you for sharing your video 👍

just got a pinecil v2 and used it to change the oled on my ts-80. I hope this one lasts longer! haha!

Just FYI, the reichelt store only has a 0.84 inch one which doesn't fit the ts80. Ordered, tried, doesn't go. 0.64 inch is the right one.

I have heard OLEDs have a life span of 2 years continuous use and I can confirm that. I have a cigar humidor with a 0.96 OLED display and it lasted about 2 years always on, but not without losing and major amount of pixels first. You must use your soldering iron a lot? It was probably defective.

Such a fking shitty product. I paid a lot for it even got all 3 tips. But didn't really use it much (maybe 5 times in 2 years). And the OLED display just dies on its own. I searched this seems to be a common problem. What the hell? this thing is not cheap and they can't even spend a few more cents to get a proper quality display on it?
Bigs waste of money. I will not be buying anything from this company again.
