Did you know that Dustin Hoffman slapped Meryl Streep for real on the set of Kramer vs. Kramer and that there are apparently people in Hollywood that are afraid of Katherine Heigl’s mom? There have been plenty of Hollywood stars over the years that have achieved fame and then squandered it as a result of bad behavior. Some of the stars that we’ll be taking a look at in this video include Chevy Chase, Mel Gibson, Dustin Hoffman, and Edward Norton.

Chevy Chase was the breakout star during Saturday Night Live’s first season in 1975. He ended up quitting the show to try and make a name for himself in the movies. Though Chevy certainly appeared in plenty of classic pictures over the course of the 1980s, he had a hard time maintaining his popularity into the 1990s. In the new millennium, the star was given a chance to revive his fame thanks to the NBC sitcom Community. However, he ended up walking away from the sitcom as a result of his still-gigantic ego.

Mel Gibson is allowed to work behind the scenes nowadays, but he hasn’t been a huge movie star since a series of offensive tirades he made during the 2000s ruined his public image. Dustin Hoffman is still a widely regarded actor thanks to his performances in such classic films as Kramer vs. Kramer, though many are retroactively questioning the performer’s legacy due to costar Meryl Steep’s claim that the actor slapped her for real during filming.

Finally, Edward Norton is a critically acclaimed actor that barely works nowadays because all of his peers hate him. Edward has been rubbing the people the wrong way in Hollywood since day one. From Chevy Chase to Edward Norton, join Facts Verse as we take a look at the most hated actors in Hollywood who can’t find work today.

No matter how far we reach in life, kindness and humility is a must in all that we do.

Over a period of twenty years, I worked on around seventy movies, tv shows, and commercials. I found Hoffman to be quiet and a pretty nice guy, but the WORST person I was ever on set with was Charleze Theron! I never experienced such a Diva on any other project! She'd hold up EVERY SCENE of the shooting schedule for an hour, or two or whatever, and when you have a crew of sixty people sitting around at hundreds of thousands of dollars an hour, it made everyone on the set pretty tense! Especially the producer!!

I've heard Chevy Chase is rude and ungrateful. Granted, he came from money, but remember who made you a star and helped continue to make millions.
Thank you! Interesting info! 😊

In the segment on Dustin Hoffman, you talk about the fact he slapped Meryl Streep, but don't mention that the throwing of a champagne bottle in the same area of the film was also a surprise to Meryl. It's also stated it was Meryl's first time in front of the camera, forgetting, it appears, that Meryl had already been nominated for a Best Supporting Actress the year before for 'The Deer Hunter' and won a Best Actress Emmy for her performance in the miniseries 'Holocaust.' She made her debut in 'Julia' in 1977. 'Kramer vs. Kramer' was far from her first role or her first time in front of the cameras...

I knew some of these actors were problematic but was unaware that a few of them were... uhh, what? Mean? Nasty? I had decided a long time ago that I didn’t really want to meet actors or visit Hollywood... They are ‘Actors’ after all and frequently do not meet audience expectations in ‘the real world’.

No matter who we are, how rich or poor, famous or unknown, we will all eventually die and gradually be forgotten.

I'm surprised that Charlie Sheen is still alive

I wouldn't talk to an actor if I was sitting next to one on a plane. I'd rather talk to my mechanic.

You can add Tina Louise, the only surviving cast member of GILLIGAN'S ISLAND, to this list. She treated her fellow "castaways" like dirt, insisting the show had always been meant to center around her character of Ginger. After GI she declined to do any of the sequel movies and has been forgotten by Hollywood and never forgiven by fans.

SNL was funny from about the 1970s thru the 1990s.

Kind of like any other job in any industry, piss off your co-workers and the Boss and Voila you are on the street and unemployed. Only difference being is most of the actors here are probably financially secure.

I was unaware of Dustin Hoffman "really slapping" Meryl Streep and I watched the movie! It was an outstanding performance by both people. 👍👍

Roseanne spoke the truth but as usual nobody wants to hear the truth.

You're absolutely wrong about the quote you attribute to Roseanne. That's NOT how that went, she never called anyone a "monkey from the planet of the apes".

Chevy Chase is nothing more than a pretty face with little if any talent born into a show biz family that got lucky.

I don’t understand why these older actors even want to work. They are very wealthy and shouldn’t have money issues. Younger actors like Norton and Heigle made enough movies to be well off so if it’s over, then it’s over, let it go.
