SD Express: How to Test and Implement SD Express and microSD Express Memory Cards in Products
Показать описание
This overview of SD Express includes its position in the SD memory card ecosystem, including both form factors – SD Express and microSD Express and the potential applications for SD Express Cards. All SD Express memory cards feature the PCI Express® and NVMe™architectures.
Also discussed are the available testing options to help product designers implement SD Express into products. These include: SD Express test requirements, test adapters for SD Express, TX test and RX test.
SD Express meets users’ demanding storage needs and delivers faster transfer speeds by incorporating PCIe® and NVMe™ capabilities alongside the SD interface. This opens new opportunities for applications to use the highest-performance removable memory cards.
SD Express achieves speeds of up to ~1GB/s (985 MB/s) with PCIe 3.1 x1 (single lane) and up to ~4GB/s (3938 MB/s), with PCIe 4.0 x2 (dual lane). These speeds support content applications and data generated by highly demanding system architectures. SD Express memory cards can serve as removable Solid State Drives (SSD).
PCIe and NVMe are known worldwide for their high bandwidth and low latency storage capabilities. In anticipation of the next generation of high performance requirements across many applications, adding both of these architectures to SD memory cards delivers faster access to data files than the various legacy SD platforms.
