Practice Morse code CW recognition

If you already know the CW alphabet but need to polish it up for speed use this practice video to help. Included are the pro-signs. Try writing it down, sending it or just saying it out loud. Code is sent at 20wpm. Never give up. Try everything and anything. Nothing works for everyone. Persons with this skill may prove very useful in times of disaster. Morse code use is not dead and probably never will be. Learning code can take years to fully master, but it can be quicker if you love doing it. Ham radio is the place to find cw in use all the time. Morse code is no longer required to get a license, but its so much fun , many just learn it anyways. I built this as a screensaver and taught myself cw. I converted it to video and I hope it helps some others. 73

Pretty good perfect for practicing while driving (listening to not looking at the screen) I like that it gives you a couple seconds after the code in which time a “new coder” can decide what it is before the answer is given.

Thank you. 20 wpm is fine. Hearing and having the rhythm correct really helps. 10 wpm and I could muddle thru the test 45 yrs ago. The inquisitive mind keeps learning.

I found this long before becoming an amateur. I use to listen to it once a month or so. I use this video and send into my oscillator right after it’s sends, then I say out loud or in my head the character. This video is great! Thanks for adding it here.

This has very great merit as a learning tool, but I think a competent programmer needs to produce similar software with user customisation. My changes would include: all letters sent at 20wpm, but immediately the morse character sounds, either the letters flash up, OR the announcement occurs (as chosen by the user). Randomly doing each might also be a good option. but synchronisation is essential. A user option just after sounding can give a space for the learner to practice their own sending, if desired. This can also provide variable Farnsworth-style "brain relief", to consolidate what the learner just heard. The ability to add noise and interference in steps would be valuable, and possibly also the ability to add distraction, by randomly changing the picture, would improve concentration. The common words and sample QSO sections should extended, but be an option. IMHO these alterations would make a really great idea outstanding!

Am I mistaken or are there a couple of mistakes? it sends a 1 but calls it a 2
and the ? it sends as .---.. should be ..--.. or am I wrong?
