This is a video I've been wanting to do for a while (in part because I've wanted to learn Morse Code myself, for years!) and I've also had many requests for it.

In my mind, there are 2 ways to go about learning Morse Code. So here are both ways!

It's one of my lengthier videos, but hopefully it will help anyone who watches this, to learn Morse Code completely in just 15 minutes, with a little bit of help from some mnemonics.

Here is the standard International Morse Code pdf I reference in the video:

And also, all of the silly phrases for all the letters in the alphabet (lowercase signifies a dot, caps signifies a dash):

A: a - PART
B: BOB - is - the - man
C: CO - ca - CO - la
D: DOG - did - it
E: eh?
F: fetch - a - FIRE - man
G: GOOD - GRAV - y
H: hip - i - ty - hop
I: i - bid
J: in - JAWS - JAWS - JAWS
K: KANG - a - ROO
L: los - AN - ge - les
M: MMMM - MMMM
N: NU - dist
O: OH - MY - GOD
P: a - POOP - Y - smell
Q: GOD - SAVE - the - QUEEN
R: ro -TAT - ion
S: si - si - si
T: TALL
U: u - ni - FORM
V: vic - tor - y - VEE
W: the - WORLD - WAR
X: X - marks - the - SPOT
Y: YOU'RE - a - COOL - DUDE
Z: ZINC - ZOO - kee - per

Imma be the cool kid in escape rooms that looks at the light blinking, translates it, then notices the light is just broken and none of that mattered

OMG! I’m 74 years old; growing up with a ham radio operator father who used Morse all the time till he got his general license, I tried to learn code. I was able to learn some if the letters but not all. Your method of assigning phrases to the sound is genius! But I already knew CQ! I’ve heard it so many times. Dah dit dah dit dah dah dit dah! Great video! BTW I got my ham license about 15 years ago when morse was no longer required.

I saw the thumbnail and was sure you were gonna make people memorize how the letters look like, but I'm glad to see you're actually teaching the rhythms!

I went to a sort of field trip recently to the college in town (I’m in senior high) and we were meant to be wandering around and seeing all the different rooms… I stayed in the simulator room with the older professor who was tinkering with his radio. Watching him tune into a Morse channel and just start writing in his notebook as he heard the beeps and responding accordingly was fascinating. I stayed there for the whole day, he even put me in charge for a little while when he left for a minute. 10/10, most positive experience of my life.

Very inventive. Maybe at 72 I'll finally learn it. Both my grandfather and father were telegraphers for the Southern Pacific railroad. I never took advantage of that to learn it. FWIW, my father was only so so. He could do about 30 WPM using a bug. My grandfather on the other hand could do between 70 and 80. He could be talking to you while listening to a message. Send the received response, write the message down all the while talking with you. I guess 50 years of doing that helped.

Pretty much something that I will never ever ever need, but it was an amazing lesson from you, the way you taught and your methods helped me learn the code in a day lol. Thanks!
