NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope has given astronomers their best look yet at an interstellar visitor – Comet 2I/Borisov – whose speed and trajectory indicates it is from outside of our Solar System.

This Hubble image, taken on October 12, is the sharpest ever view of the comet. Hubble reveals a central concentration of dust around the solid icy nucleus.

It would be fascinating to send a probe to an objekt like this and bring sampels back. Material from another solar system. Just crazy...

I would be interesting to place a probe on an interstellar object, much like a tag on a sea mammal, so as to track and study the path and migration of objects like this thru the galaxy and our solar system.

Lets just hope it wasnt a "warning shot across our Bow"

The Vera C. Rubin observatory (LSST) may spot many interstellar bodies in the near future.

190-million miles is the closest this comet will get to us? That's approximately twice as far away as our sun. I guess I don't have to worry about it crashing nearby and ruining my day.

Como os astrónomos amadores dão também um contributo bastante na descoberta cósmica! O Hubble encarregou-se de dar veracidade do cometa visitante e que vem de outro lado!! Falta saber de Onde??

Oh boy.
It looks like 2020 was supposed to be the Mayan 2012 all along. Those guys must've messed the math.
not only we're having an catastrophic year, in December we'll have a big eclipse in south america, near the passing of this "visitor".

It's moving fast enough to go from the earth to the moon in about 2 hours. Eep!

What is the apparent magnitude and constellation where we can see it?

I think Oumuamua was an alien ship and it came to discover everything about our world

Hubble is really a great invention..🔭
Why is it named Borisov/21..??

I question if it is of another solar system when it apparently has the same materials and composition as our own solar system!
