“Anywhere Is” was almost the song that wasn’t! Enya famously couldn’t finish the song (she wasn’t sure which direction it should go in) and it she was ready to put out ‘The Memory of Trees’ without it. But when Rob Dickins came to Aigle Studios to listen to the album and sign off on it, Nicky played ‘Anywhere Is, ’ in all its unfinished glory, and Dickins begged the Trio to finish it. Roma went first, securing the words, and Enya and Nicky spent the next three months hashing it out. A great little story to go along with ‘Anywhere Is, ” because after all, it is, isn’t it?
