Okay that's good that it helped you. If you are new to SWX I recommend doing the built in SWX tutorials under the help menu. They cover most of the essentials and are a taste of what you get when you do the formal training. I'm a CSWP and have been using SWX since '98 and can't recommend them enough. Also get yourself a 3Dconnexion mouse for your left hand

If I understand your question correctly, you can select a face or an edge to create the mate

when you put a bolt on a thread in a haunted house...

Question: If the nut was locked to prevent it from rotating (but it could still move freely in the direction of its axis), and the bolt was allowed to rotate (but it was prevented from moving along its axis), and the bolt head was grabbed and rotated, would the nut move up and down the threads still, but stay locked in one orientation? (I probably did a horrible job of explaining that...) Thanks for any help you can provide.

How do we select the bolt body if the bolt does not have the flat (non-threaded) part?

How did you get that blue line created to allow you to mate them so easily?

How do you know how much to input on the Mechanical Mates for the "Revolutions In"? I saw you put in 1.5.

What an odd thing to say! Nowhere in the title or description does it say it's a tutorial

Hang on let me think about that for a that would work...I have done this when modelling a slide carriage that moves up and down an IGUS CNC slide. You can turn the lead screw and the carriage will move up and down the carriage represents the nut in my example.

If this is not a tutorial/teaching aid
, what is it?....Just you playing with solidworks? I like the music, but can not learn without verbal instruction... Even if the others agree that it was helpful, it is not to me. I am a former teacher and would never think of teaching without talking.

It doesn't explain anything, therefore it's not a tutorial. It's a demonstration. A bit like when someone demonstrates any product but is not showing you how to use it. An other example would be demonstrating a would not be teaching you how this is my first Troll experiance
