No one is forced to use a certain version. If you are using 2011 or later, it is because someone decided to upgrade from 2010. There are a lot of SolidWorks customers using versions as old as 2007 currently.

That kind of interoperability with previous versions isn't possible because the file format changes for every release due to the new features that are added every year. This isn't unique to SolidWorks, and is common for most (if not all) CAD software. That said, starting with SolidWorks 2013, you will be able to open files for the current version in SP5 of the previous version. In other words, SolidWorks 2012 SP5 will be able to open and work with SolidWorks 2013 files.

Do you also offer auto-assembly for identical parts at very close locations?
How smart is the AI ? How well can the software guess?
Does the AI can guess auto-symmetry, so 100% of my time will be "ideas" instead of work?

I like the "auto explode" part! it's so ovius...

A student like myself, with no income, is expected to pay R1000 ($150) - for only one year... I'm sorry but as much as I would love this software, I cannot afford to purchase a license.
