Hi Chris, I'm going to the Golden triangle next week for 3 days.
Although I know Slatey creek is dry now, I hope to practice with my new metal detector.
After watching this video, I, ll also look for some Quartz like you described to take home and crush.
I am new to prospecting so this is my first trip to the golden triangle, hope to get just a little bit of colour.

Also fire assay can be a good way to test gold ores for hidden / non visible gold
