Reputable E-waste shops should offer e-shredding and physical shredding. One I worked for did the e-shredding by writing zeros on it, but if you asked for it, they would dump it in a physical shredder. They also manual hydraulic presses that they used to crush disks at the stores if you wanted to see the disk physically destroyed.

Pop the top off and extract the neo magnet(s) before getting midievil on the platters :) Bonus points if you can access the drive after removing the cover.

Or just burn it. If it's an HDD it'll lose its magnetism and if it's SSD it'll burn off the transistors.

Just opening the drive will do it granted if someone really wants to steal your identity you have to be extremely rich or holding top secret data for someone to go that extra length l.

Yea I have a drill press, I take the cover off and just smash the discs with the spindle. Real easy and I’d put my life savings on that data being entirely unrecoverable
