Soledar: Strikes heard as Russia Ukraine fighting continues in Ukrainian city. A coordinated Ukrainian strike killed more than 100 Russian soldiers who had grouped together during the Battle of Soledar in yet another devastating setback in Vladimir Putin's barbaric invasion of Ukraine, it has been claimed. Putin was today accused of 'driving his own people to slaughter by the thousands' in his drive to secure the significant town of Soledar in eastern Ukraine, after Ukrainian troops launched a Soviet-era missile at a large group of Russian soldiers. Ukraine's military said more than 100 Russian soldiers 'went together to Hell' in the coordinated attack in Soledar, which involved special forces, gunners and rocket launchers. Heavy fighting has broken out in Soledar, once a bustling salt-mining town in eastern Ukraine, as Russian forces try to take control of the nearby and key city of Bakhmut. Haunting before-and-after satellite images show how all of the town's buildings have been destroyed, with barely any walls left standing, by a relentless stream of missiles and gunfire.

ukraine had over 3, 000 of its own tanks Poland gave them almost 300 T72s, The US gave 2, 200 various fighting vehicles without the rest of the NATO. Zelenski every month is asking to send more and more last week "we need 500 tanks, we need artillery 500 we need planes we need SAMs" basically a new Army. my Question is whats happened to everything he's been given along with all of the stuff he already had?

Russia so they keep telling us are a paper tiger they are running out of weapons etc surely they cant all be destroyed can they?

Meanwhile in real life Zelenskyy as usual left several hundreds of his wounded and frostbitten troops in encirclement in Soledar . He apparently learned nothing from Mariupol and other disasters . Inadequate erratic Zelenskyy continues to pursue his nutty tactic of constantly throwing poorly trained (most don't have any training whatsoever; lucky ones have 5-week training at best. So poor fellows are just half-baked cannon fodder) Ukrainian reserves into a meat grinder and holding on to disadvantageous positions until it's too late. Even Zelenskyy's ambassador in London had to admit: "We’re losing people left and right" and called Ukrainian losses simply "incomprehensible". Erratic Zelenskyy is the gift that keeps giving for the Russians. Ukraine already lost most trained and motivated soldiers along with almost all hardware it had before the war (to understand the scale of losses it had 1 990 tanks, 1 212 IFVs, 1 112 heavy artillery systems, 354 multiple rocket launchers). Its army is a shadow of its former self at the beginning of the war. Mass summary executions for attempted surrender or unauthorized retreat just cause further demoralization and despair. Bakhmut is just the last instance of this insane tactic. Russians have 1:6 advantage in artillery according to WaPo of all places. WSJ is quoting Ukrainian commander in Bakhmut as saying: “So far body count "exchange rate” is strongly in favor of the Russians . If we carry on like this, we will rapidly burn through all our conscription resources.”

They actually could have avoided using the people in those settlements as Shields couldn't they? Did they have to form ever front inside residential areas? They could have provided defensive focus outside the population areas couldn't they and to save innocents just as need be fall back in such a way to avoid these areas. But no. That isn't what we see. Every building pulverised why? Because every building is used as a fortress. By design.
