Budget tip for those who don’t have the tool or aa friend to pump the brakes. Get a plastic bottle, Gatorade works well. Clean and dry it. Poke a hole in the cap and place a tube all the way to the bottom. Put an inch or two of brake fluid in the bottle. Connect the tube to you bleeder and crack it open. Use some Teflon tape or grease on the bleeder threads to make sure it is sealed when it is cracked open. Pump the breaks in the car and the air will bubble out in the bottle. When you lift your foot off the pedal the fluid in the bottle will go back into the break line preventing air from going back in. Make sure to keep the master cylinder full. I have had 100% success with this method.

Keep up the good work Sally. You are a class act!

Tip. Remove the blender screw completely and clean it up including the tiny jets. Add grease to the threads before reinstalling to prevent the false air bubbles you saw.

FYI... Used a knee pad on the concrete. The older you get the bigger the pain...

My problem with using one of these has been pulling air through the calipers. That was in my 1970 and 1967 corvettes. Could be just those old cars…

Plastic tubing and a soda bottle half full of break fluid also works 😘

I had one of these but they're not great. You're always better off forcing air from the reservoir via the bleed screw. A Motive Power Bleeder is exactly the tool needed.

1/4 inch hose and a water bottle has never done me wrong.

I bought the HF version, looks identical. Worked well on the first 3 calipers, then the internal diaphragm started failing. You can unscrew it, reset the diaphragm in its correct place and use it until it slips again. Failed too quickly, in the trash it went. My daughter came out and worked the pedal for me. Too bad, started out pretty handy. Maybe the Jegs will last?

I find vacuum bleeding hit or miss becase the hose always leaks air at the bleeder.

If yall’s pump gauge isn’t holding air after squeezing put some grease or anti-seize around bleeder screw and hose connection to bleeder screw to seal the air out. That and keep it from hanging down too low. Set the cup up on something. Ideally level with bleeder.

I've always used the cheap 03 dollar ones that are very easy to use but this video helped me a lot because this seems very hard to set up and I am a Master mechanic LOL

These work pretty good.. I put the hose directly on it with grease around the hose on the bleed valve. Other wise it won’t fully seal.

I’ve used a hose and a bucket for 20 years and it’s never done me wrong. Only costed me 1$ and I’ve had it in my tool bag ever since

Thank you for showing me in a short reel how to do this!

That wasn't air in the lines. It's just not a 100% sealed at the bleeder screw. Which will suck alittle from their/ air too.

Also put Teflon tape on the bleeder screw because sometimes it'll suck air from that and make you think you have air in your lines and you can only put a real thin piece on it because it spins with it and doesn't create a seal so a little bit goes a lot more with that but those things actually work pretty good when you have it sealed tight
