The Behringer Model D is an homage (or clone, depending on your point of view...) to the classic and legendary Minimoog Model D.

Behringer's main achievement, aside from creating a faithful and great sounding synth, is pricing it at $300. In this video I review some of the "cons" of this synth, and the many "pros" that make it a very enjoyable synthesizer, including three oscillators, a classic ladder filter, 5 modulation sources, two envelopes, two LFOs and a small but capable set of patch points.

I own a model D for a few months now. Mine turned out to be a semitone out of tune as well. As a first-time synth owner I was a bit scared to do it myself but after watching Behringer's tutorial video 15 times to be sure that i'm doing it right, it actually turned out to be very easy to do it. I didn't use a voltmeter or anything. I just used a screwdriver and Ableton's tuner to fix it. It was actually pretty easy.
It's a pretty good learning synth. 3 osc, noise, and the nice filter allow you to do a lot of things already. Eventually the need for a polyphonic synth arisen and when I heard about Poly D, I actually got pretty excited. But when I heard the price I changed my mind and ordered a deepmind 12 instead.

I bought a model d second hand like a year ago as I was hoping to get into synthesizing (I'm a guitar player). Anyway, fast forward a year later and In finally figuring out the model D. I figured out how to get some amazing sounds on my own after messing around with it for an afternoon, but this video is incredibly informative.
