I appreciate these video's. I am a radio announcer with over 40 years in the business and I must say, I have learned from these guys. I keep coming back to see what's next! Keep the vids coming. Great work.

The concept of mix-minus is something most folks are not familiar with if they have not done podcasts for too long or worked in radio. I have been using the Lightning to headset adapter and then by using a TRRS to TRS dual female adapter (mic and headphone split) I can feed in the mix-minus from the aux feed. Only issue I found is using a line level output from the mixer to a mic level input on the phone is a problem so I put a line to mic adapter in line to feed the proper level to the phone. I'll try this solution since it seems to have solved that last issue somehow.

It works!! I bought the "abomination " cable after watching this video and set it up just like you said. Works perfectly on Android via the 3.5mm jack.

Thank you for providing this video! This was very detailed and educated me on how to properly use my new soundboard! I'm a rookie podcaster that was looking for solutions to take a live phone call for my listeners to participate, but instead went with Twitter Space where I could have more than one person interact. The only way for me to host a recording with Twitter Space is through the phone and figured it would be the same concept as taking a live phone call. I just recently recorded my latest episode with live recording from Twitter Space and it worked perfectly. Still need to adjust my audio levels a little bit, but it was what I needed to move toward my goal. I can not thank you enough!

Well done!. I found one of those funny little patch cords at work (radio station) and until now, I did not know what it was for. Thanks for enlightening me.

Hi, just a question: The iPhone excepts a microphone level signal but with your cable you feed it line level from your mixing console. How do you solve that? Or is there an attenuator built in the cable?

I'm just a little weary of the mic connection back from the mixer to my iphone. Is there any danger of damaging my phone with this input back from my mixer? Thanks great video!

Hello Jordan, absolutely LOVE your tutorials, they have helped tremendously. Setting up my MG10XU, but I ran into a problem or missing a step. Have gotten the phone hooked up etc. my question is, caller can hear my mic fine, but how can I play other audio from my ‘computer’ that they can hear? For example, I’m a voice over artist, and I’m on the phone with my director and want to playback a file that I just recorded on my DAW. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello creator. I did follow your steps setting up the phone interview setup which u explained at the end of this video but the only problem i am facing is that my microphones effects are no longer present when i connect my phone into fx/aux send port on my mixer. What am i doing wrong?

For years I’ve connected an oldish iPhone into my budget mixer (behringer) for broadcasting interviews over the phone.

As soon as I upgraded my mic to a SM7B I started to get what I can only describe as electrical interference.

I’ve tried all sorts of cables ; mono jacks, stereo, red and whites, also lightening connected to the mixer - nothing helps. I would be grateful for any help !

I have the Yamaha MG10XU. I bought all the cables you recommended and connected them the way you suggested. I see the mixer is receiving the audio but it is not shooting the audio through the speakers (headset). When I connect my phone and put music I can see the bars moving when I raise the level of the channels 5/6 but that audio is not coming to my headset. If I record I can hear the music and my mic in the recording but not live.

Any suggestions?

The main idea why I want this is to have a live podcast where I can receive phone calls from people. In some causes when I am interviewing a person and public wants to ask him or her a question.

I have this set up on my Behrninger X2222USB but what I've noticed is if I have my Condenser mic panned left and my cell phone input panned right I'm getting a crackling on the right with some strange breakthrough of my mic signal coming back in through the phone channel. If I put them both in stereo it isn't as bad but there's definitely some sort of voltage spike or audio issue. I'm contemplating going to a line to mic adapter of some sort.

What do I need to stream music from my phone or pc and hear it to my DJ speakers? I am using pioneer ddjsx controller and want to sound good coming out from speakers. Do I need to buy a DJ sound card?
