honestly? i think earlier animation meme community is better. the outputs may not have always been PEAK in hindsight, but it was because you werent expected to meet a high standard. it was mostly just artists having fun and making something on the side between bigger projects- and it made more detailed animation memes feel more deserved and special when they were posted- especially because they could have more time to cook while their creators made smaller simplistic memes in the meantime. its hard to find memes i feel like doing these days because they all require so much work and such high standards. i suppose pkrussl's to blame for that, though.

i absolutely love how accurate this is lol. especially the difference between the two styles! current amc has more pastel/mute colours while 2015-2018 has more bright n neon colours. + how current amc has simpler eyes compared to 2015-2018. this video also made me realize how 2015-2018 amc really liked focusing on the eyes compared to everything else..

Stuff like momotaro, perfect, hiccup, chock chock, SWING IT!, hot chocolate and all that gud stuff

I really miss the old animation meme era, where it was more about having fun and not caring that characters might be considered “cringe”. The colours and designs of the characters were a lot more fun to me. Now everybody just wants to look like anime.

Now it’s about who can be the most perfectionist with their art and editing. The standards are unreasonably high and I’m sure it makes a lot of people (including me) feel bad about their art, animation and video editing skills never being up to par…

I was watching animation memes since 2017, but I was too shy to show my animations online ANYWAYS I really miss the 2017-2019 animation memes, I remember my favorite was the "Cute furry bopping head then turns into a bloody black and red demon"

Man, just seeing the character representing the 2015-2018 amc unlocked a lot of memories. A nice detail is them even having the headbopping which was a popular thing animators did back then. (Alongside the saturated colors; very colorfull lmao) It makes me miss those 2015-2018 amc times (minus all the dumb drama and slanderous situations that happened in the community)
