Orange County mayor Jerry Demings as reported in Orlando sentinel back pages has pulled the plug for rent assistance hotline. Originally set up with 2 operators received over 100, 000 calls first day. Demings increased operators to 8. Their goal was to assist 1500 new applications. Reported today they closed the hotline. It appears the mayor Demings got his sound bite expressing assistance then realizes it is a huge problem and pulls the plug. Orlando is in big trouble.
