Audiovisual immersive experience by Playmodes Studio

SOUND ON - Barcelona-based Playmodes Studio consists of a hybrid team of engineers, musicians, and designers. Their deep interest in the relationship between visual and auditory phenomena, as well as their skills in electronic music composition, leads them to create projects where sound and image are treated as a single matter. In most cases, the same streams of data generate both audio and visuals through self-made software. Concepts like real-time image sonification, or audio visualisation are common in their work, giving form to visual music artworks that drive the audience into strong synaesthetic perceptions.

“Horizon” is an immersive installation that plays with the limits of spatial perception and raises a magical window that extends apparent reality. Light, sound, space, and perspective come together in this imaginary vanishing point, proposing a journey beyond the limits of physical reality.
