For addition of a and b vectors must be kept cyclically. Tail of vector a must be on terminal of vector b.

Or angle must be taken between a and c these are I'm cyclical order

something i've been very struggling. You can write that vector b = a + c. Then after multiblication you will get b^2=a^2 + c^2 + 2ca cos. The plus sign is off. My text book says that now you should use external angle for those two vectors, which will make the equation correct, but i don't really know why and when i should use external vectors. Can you explain why?

how come you can just insert the 'cosθ' at the end? There was no reason given for the action, completely arbitrary.

I will remove my downvote when you answer the following question - how can we just arbitrarily ad the cosø - can you please give a better answer than 'this is the geometric interpretation' because from what I understand, cosø has some sort of value that when multiplied with the things its next to changes it. What am I missing?
