Barnstormer 25S Vintage RC Plane Build: 28 Center of Gravity, Wing Loading, Finish Build

In this video build log series I am building a vintage RPM Barn Stormer 25S RC Plane Kit (or Barnstormer). The RPM Barn Stormer Series RC plane kits were produced by OK Models in the 1980s and are no longer produced. But the RPM Barn Stormer RC kits can still be found on sites like ebay. If you like to fly, build, crash and repair RC planes (Radio Control Planes), I hope this video build series will be informative, interesting and maybe entertaining.

In this video I finish the RC Plane build. In this final build video I check the RC Plane center of gravity for proper plane balance. I also weigh the plane to check the weight against the kit specifications. I also show how to calculate the wing loading for an rc plane. I also talk a little bit about wing loading and how wing loading is helpful in understanding how a plane will fly or its flight characteristics. Planes with low wing loading are typically gliders, sailplanes, and short takeoff and landing planes like Piper Cubs. High wing loading planes tend to be the faster and heavier planes like jets, warbirds, and scale rc planes. Middle range wing loading planes tend to be trainer planes and some sport planes. I also finally install the battery pack by making a foam block to hold the battery in place. I also install the receiver using velcro and double sided tape. And I set the receiver antennas using black electrical tape.

This finishes the build! In the next video I will take this plane out to the RC air field for it's maiden flight. Hopefully it will not be a maiden RC plane crash. Crashing a rc plane is always bad, but crashing a rc plane on it's maiden flight is especially bad.

I have been building, flying, crashing, modifying, and repairing radio control planes for many years and enjoy sharing what I do with the radio control plane community. I fly with Futaba radio equipment, OS Max engines and Saito engines and typically run Morgan Omega and Powermaster glow fuels. I fly ARF rc planes, but I also really like to build rc plane kits.

more obliviousness at 20:26, if the servos are not mounted with GROMMETS, they Will glitch; from engine vibration.!!!

if you Want to know whether the dom is wonky, invert the model and balance it At the fuselage. ideally, the balance point Should be at a point that (roughly) vertically aligns with twenty-five percent of chord.!

at 7:36, a good cg location does Not equal an optimally located c-m.!!! center of mass. you followed the plans. sorta do you REMEMBER making the tail HEAVY. with extra parts at the tail wheel !!!

more stoopidness. at 6:41, TOO near the fuselage.

Molto bello, importante spiegazione sul calcolo mai vista in altri video ed ottimo il consiglio sul posizionamento della pacco batteria e della ricevente, meritato un bel voto 10 . Adesso in attesa del collaudo, saluti from Tuscany
