The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office is working around the clock to investigate a homicide after a Belgrade man was found dead at a campsite north of Big Sky over the weekend.
The victim, 35-year-old Dustin Kjersem, had plans to meet a friend on Friday for a weekend of camping. But he never made it.
A passerby discovered his body inside his tent on Saturday at a campsite near Moose Creek Road.
Officials with Fish, Wildlife and Parks were called to the scene but found no evidence of bear activity, ruling out interaction with wildlife as the cause of death.
