I know you probably don’t expect anyone who lived through the 90s to see this video, but I have to say something. Saved by the Bell wasn’t costuming, because it was more how people may have dressed during 1988-1991. Sex in the City may actually be more costume-y and a reflection on aspirational dressing in 1997-2002/3. To encapsulate the 90s, I’d probably point to 90210 for early 90s, My So Called Life for mid-90s and probably Friends for 1996 onward and, of course, that’s more towards what mainstream people were wearing. In fact, Jennifer Aniston wardrobe during the mid to late 90a is probably the best reflection of how regular people pulled off 90s minimalism.
