James the just actually wrote the letter to christians of Jewish background, since he was the leader of Jewish christians. Most likely to a group called Nazarenes and Ebionites. Also in chapter 2, there is a direct response to Paul's claims in Galatians about Abraham, making many scholars believe James had a fight with Paul about the Torah

James is a great book, I used parts of it for a reading at my fathers funeral with regards to overcoming trials in life etc. Also James is my namesake so feel close to the writer.

James is applicable for some sanctification, but justification not present in Grace, The Church Age. This is a great book for people living in Millenium.
