is called faked take-off, and is super usefull to trimm your board on the wave and run to the nose, just try :D

Shift your weight to the rear of the board by lifting your torso off the board and the wave picks you up without much paddling.. waves will always travel much faster than you’ll ever be able to paddle.

I mean it may not be the biggest wave, but it’s a respectable size. I bet he has a great personality and with enough patience, you can still ride him 😢

this doesn’t work unless you’re on a longboard this is pretty dang tough on anything under 6”2
