For the doomers watching this: Devin spent hours making that website, and they showed you the time that it worked.

What they didn't show you is how many times it took to make that demo. And how many calls to OpenAI/ChatGPT they're making.

Making that website might have cost them tens to hundreds of dollars in API calls over a 2 hour period. And it might have taken 5, 10, 20 attempts. We don't know.

If it were actually capable, or even close to capable, of replacing devs. Then they'd be selling it now. The fact they're advertising now, without selling it, means it doesn't work. I struggle to see a world in which Devin works at an economic level. Maybe one day able to replace a developer, but only a dev being paid $1m/year or something. Not a Senior at some bank or something.

I think this should be it. 4:03. We should wait to see a version to try out.

For me, I am seeing a publicity stunt to get maybe funding.

I don't think AI will replace software Engineers. People who know how to use AI will be the ones.
