Isaiah Thomas - Fantastic Finisher 15/16

Isaiah Thomas was drafted with the final pick in the 2011 NBA draft. In being taken with the 60th pick, Isaiah became the lowest drafted player to become an NBA All Star. On the back off a career best 22.2 points per game (good for 11th best in the league) and an impressive 6.3 assists per game (15th best league wide), he helped Boston to 48 wins this season, and a second consecutive playoff berth.

Standing at 5’9”, Isaiah Thomas is probably not the first name that jumps to mind when you think about the best finishers in the league, but IT belongs in that conversation. He’s got quickness and an impressive bag of tricks, with his ability to split defenders, smitty stop & go move, and a TIGHT handle, which allows him to get to the rim with the greatest of ease. When he gets there, man, is it impressive to watch. He’s got toughness and touch, floaters that rise for days, and the ability (and want) to absorb contact and muscle through. He’s acrobatic when he gets airborn, but he can also finish with force.

The Washington Husky is obviously a big game player. Boston’s first home playoff game saw Thomas drop 42 on the Hawks. That’s just the 9th time a Celtic has gone off for 40 during the playoffs, with Thomas joining the likes of Ray Allen, Larry Bird, John Havlicek, and Paul Pierce. If you are wearing Boston green, those are great names to be mentioned with. The future is bright in Beantown.

It really takes a lot of courage to storm into the paint when there are so many big defenders there.

5'9...final pick in the draft....29 points per game in 2016. If you watch his game, he's quick but not blazing fast, has hops but isn't Nate Robinson, can shoot but isn't Curry. His game is all skill and heart. Hesitation dribbles, using the rim to protect your layup, knowing when to pull up off screens and when to cut through the D.

People don't give this guy the credit he truly deserves for his hops, this guy had so much bunnies.

Being a smaller size is both a disadvantage and an advantage. Helps him squeeze through smaller gaps in defense more effectively

those scop floaters are so nice, and it is even more hard to do than a common floater

He's not very big but he uses his body better than most centers in the NBA.

It's funny and amazing at the same time how a guy at 5'9" is able to finish at the rim. his body control and strength to use his shoulder to push off defenders for the and 1 is perfect IT4 is a little lion.

@5:33 He does a bunch of hook shots. That seems like a really useful move for a small guy. If a 5-9 player can do it to DeAndre Jordan, there are no limits.

Evin, I love these videos. I use them to study moves and break them down to teach our players here. Can you make Durant Hesitation/Hesitation Cross mix
