The Four Temperaments - How To Assess People Quickly

The Four Temperament Theory is a proto-psychological theory suggesting that the four temperaments - Sanguine, Choleric, Phlegmatic, and Melancholic - are, in essence, the four fundamental personality types. This model takes into consideration whether a person is an introvert or an extrovert, and whether they are more emotional or rational. These factors can determine how someone behaves and reacts in certain situations.

This is one of the oldest theories about personality types. And while it is not part of modern psychology, the 4 temperaments remained well known throughout history.

Nonetheless, if you enjoy self discovery and learning about human psychology and behavior, you will likely find this ancient idea rather interesting!

The temperaments are not linked with introversion and extroversion, little tip. Also their are around 15 mixes. The face physiognomy convex/concave and the 12 season subtypes are linked too.

Spring is sanguine, summer phlegmatic, autumn is choleric and winter melancholic.

Also melancholic is not linked to depression, the temperaments are born in and with you.

For example the sanguine first with summer secondary season in colorpalette is sanguine-phlegmatic

The summer first and secondary spring would be phlegmatic first and sanguine second

Often times one of sanguine or choleric with phlegmatic/melancholic creates ambiverts and a good blend.

Sanguine-choleric are the most dynamic and extrovert in temperament and melancholic-phlegmatic the most calm.

PS: we tend to want to learn the opposite, so if you think you are melancholic, you are sanguine and if you think, you are choleric, you are phlegmatic

The reason behind it is learning to balance yourself out, so the calm, piece and unemotinal, steady one sees his/her choleric moments, the choleric had made bad experiments and had actively learned to calm und be more patient and aware of emotions and rest; the sanguine understands that we have shadows, failures and that borigness and routines, repeatings and negative or reserved people and moments are normal... they have depressing and a lot of melancholic moments, but always search for new things, social contacts, culture, sport etc. and connections, they want to be energetic and optimistic deep down

the melancholic learns to open up, to be more flexible and direct, more action taking and out of comfort zone

I feel that I oscillate through all four of these archetypal temperamental states of being equally. Depending upon what I'm experiencing in life like moving into a new environment and life experiences it seems I've been each one at the forefront for long durations. Life changing events usually was the result that this happens.
