UN COP27 Climate summit opens in Egypt with warning of ‘catastrophe’

Negotiators have agreed for the first time to formally discuss whether vulnerable countries which have already suffered loss and damage from climate change should be paid compensation by rich countries whose emissions caused the problem.

How does flying 40, 000 people to a remote conference centre in Africa, mostly on private jets, actually help the climate they keep telling us is on the brink of catastrophe. Many additional flights including, if Glasgow last year is anything to go by, upwards of 400 private jets. The carbon footprint of these COP conferences must be phenomenal. The hypocrisy of these people is simply off the scale.

Who would of thought that the conclusion from another climate summit is that we are all doomed! Surprises me every year...
