‘Climate chaos’ warning as COP27 opens in Egypt

The United Nations’ COP27 climate change summit has opened in Egypt with a warning that the Earth is facing a “chronicle of climate chaos".

Antonio Guterres, the United Nations secretary general, welcomed more than 120 world leaders to the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh by publicising a report which said the past eight years are on track to be the warmest on record.
