New York Officially Announces Hiring of Coach Tom Thibodeau: Knicks Fans React

He is the best coach that we have had in a very long time. He is a winner everywhere he goes. He is a positive for the team. Has a proven track record.

He was the best man available. The man said he was willing to adapt look at his ice defense and it is very similar to how a lot of the top defenses play today just look at the bucks. As they stated in the press conference thibs has been a part of strong offensive teams on multiple rosters. And the comments on development are just not true the man has a strong list of players who improved under him and speak well of him. He was considered a top 5 coach just a couple years ago that's more than we can about any of the recent hires but the most important factor has to be that he brings a culture with him something desperately needed before we can pretend to be good or attract Free agents.

I'm going to suggest that if this is going to be something that you're going to do moving forward you may want to invest in better microphones (especially the host) and graphics background. I would have loved Atkinson, but Thibs is a close 2nd place. I think Thibs' gravity will attract an amazing staff that will help develop the Knicks. It seems like Woodson and Miller are set to be his top assistants, and I would think that they were in the top 5 of coaches internet fans wanted.

I cannot really see the offense improving lot next year, outside of whatever progression our young players and whatever free agents we bring in, but see tremendous upside with our defense.

Mitch, Frankie, and RJ can really start to change the defensive mindset of the Knicks if they buy into Thibs' ICE D on the PnR.

Excited to see RJ working on the post. He is going to dominate smaller guards, while Mitch hedges for O Rebs, and double teams/lobs.

The player that will change the knicks for the better is closer than you know, but the problem is that you wouldnt understand his skill set. I think the player that will bring championships to the knicks will be a shocker. and he will be around 5" 6" to 6"1, 40+ years of age, with a alright average great coach or with phil Jackson again and maybe win 7 to 12 championships and take the game to a hire perspective of how players skills will be more

I feel like it a good hire for the Knicks. I think the Knicks going keep RJ and Mitchell Robinson build around them. Get PG that a dog from the draft. Have veterans around them to push them. Randle might not stay

I feel Thibodeau was only hired because he has a relationship with Leone Rose. Only got the job because of who he knows. Kenny Atkinson was the perfect fit for this Knicks team.

You guys are saying everything the wolves said when we got him, change of culture, defense, history, but Look what he did in Minnesota. 1st thing he did was draft Dunn over Buddy Heild/Jamal Murray which was the stupidest pick of stupid. 2nd, he realized he couldn't coach young guys so he then traded everyone to get the Timberbulls back together for a pure talent playoff birth team thanks to D Rose. Then he got booed out of Minny because of the situation he created. Should of got Ty lue or Mark Jackson. Good luck though
